A home for all
Salvation Army of Wake County
This mural was a solo project completed by the President prior to the official founding of the organization. The mural was painted in a recreational room for patrons of the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army provides food, shelter, clothing, and more to those in need. Through this mural, we aimed to embody the Salvation Army’s goal of providing shelter to all by including a village of many colorful houses.
Doing the most good
Salvation Army of Wake County
This mural was the first mural painted with student volunteers. It was painted in the cafeteria of the Salvation Army of Wake County. Given the location of the mural, we decided to depict a farm so that patrons of the cafeteria would get a sense of freshness and high quality while eating. We added imagery such as a rising sun, as well as animals running around in the fields, to provide an additional optimistic aspect to the overall image. Given that this mural was painted while the cafeteria was in operation, we got many nice compliments from the patrons who all said that the mural added a fun touch to the otherwise utilitarian space.
